Visual Storytelling

At a glance, visual storytelling presents information in a way that draws users in and invites them to dive in deeper at their own pace. It is respectful to the user’s attention, by immediately highlighting the purpose of the content and why it matters, and is a product of thoughtful design.

The following are examples of visual narratives, achieved through the artful use of conceptual imagery, the strategic hierarchy of information, and supporting graphics.

  • Creative direction
  • Content strategy
  • Art direction of photography
  • Digital + print design

Museum of the History of Polish Jews

A campaign to raise over $35 million to fund the museum’s exhibitions and programming. As creative director at JWD, I directed the design of the campaign website and case brochure, with our senior designer Max Singer, while supervising web development and print production. The exhibition renderings were produced with Event Communications of London.

The Brick Church School

Rebranding an early childhood school, informed by in-depth discovery and analysis. My role was art director and designer, while interpreting user research with a brand strategy consultant. The images of enchanting objects nod to their Reggio Emilia approach to self-guided and experiential learning.

The Door

Empowering teens and young adults to reach their potential in a diverse and caring environment. My role was art director and designer, collaborating with our photographer and the client’s content editor.

Temple Emanu-El

Inspiring a journey through the past 180 years to the present and future. I art directed and designed the campaign to raise over $100 million for capital improvements, programs, and endowment funds. At the conclusion of the story, we collaborated with Beyer Blinder Belle to create architectural renderings of new community spaces funded by the campaign.

Kavanot Magazine — The Leffell School

Pairing print and interactive design to express this independent school’s unique values. My role was art director, digital designer, WordPress developer, editorial designer, and production manager. I partnered with our editor/writer on content strategy and directed all photography and production coordination.

Kavanot is a Hebrew word meaning “sincere feeling, direction of the heart.”

The Juilliard School

To produce a viewbook with emphasis on community, we partnered with Juilliard’s communications and admissions teams to soften audience perceptions of the highly-competitive school.
